Does Jesus need rebranding? Under the influence of some politicians, Christianity has become ugly, reactionary, narrow-minded and out of touch. Sometimes, 'Jesus' actually becomes a commercial brand. Jeans brand "G-sus Sindustries" (no, I didn't misspell!) even uses a thorny crown as its logo! But perhaps the most obvious selling out of Jesus happens in 'Christian' merchandise.Recently, I came across this poster. It's an open source (no copyright) poster by Amsterdam's squatter's movement, depicting Jesus saying: 'Everything you did unto the poor, you did unto me.' The subtext says: 'ban on squatting = rising rents = more poverty on the streets = ! ....'
Of course, this is an instance of the political use of Jesus. However, somehow I'm touched to find a movement - not often associated with religion - recognising Jesus' kindness towards the poor. I'm not sure what Jesus' position on the squatter's movement would be, but it's good to see a variation to the conservative and commercial branding of Jesus.

from reading it suddenly there is a feeling of vastness, of connection, and I dissolve into it. This is a great post.
Thanks!
